Latitudinal and temporal characteristics of pulsating auroras

Abstract
Photometric observations of pulsating aurora were made from four locations on a magnetic meridian. These observations are used to develop a set of physical characteristics with which to test theoretical mechanisms for the production of pulsations. The period, absolute intensity, and amplitude of auroral pulsations are described for seven nights of observation and illustrate the development of pulsating aurora displays in invariant latitude and magnetic time.
