Abstract
Some issues that are salient to contemporary community nursing practice, including goals, levels of practice, roles, and settings are presented. Different positions on each issue are discussed. The opportunities offered for resolution of these issues by the construct of primary health care, as defined by the World Health Organization (Director‐General's Report, 1975), are emphasized. Keywords
