Abstract
We compare for n1, n2 = 10(10)50 and α = .01,.05 the following tests for two binomial proportions: chisquare, chisquare with YATES correction, chisquare with BERCHTOLD correction, chisquare with SCHOUTEN et al. correction, log likelihood ratio and t‐test. The chisquare test with BERCHTOLD correction has error probabilities that in the mean are closest to the significance level. Especially for α = .01 the difference between the power of the chisquare and t‐test is in many cases surprisingly small.
