Abstract
Summary: Penicillin inhibited the growth of psittacosis virus (strain 6BC) in roller tube tissue cultures and eggs. Sodium sulfadiazine had a marked inhibitory action on the growth of psittacosis virus in eggs. It was effective in delaying or preventing the death of infected chick embryos within the period of observation. Streptomycin had no effect on the growth of psittacosis virus in tissue cultures or embryonated eggs. Para-amino benzoic acid had no effect on the mortality of chick embryos infected with the virus. Keywords
