Abstract
Synopsis The paper deals with a theoretical formulation of moment-curvature curves for prestressed concrete members subjected to constant bending moment. The theory takes into consideration the variation of curvature between cracks caused by concrete tension and makes possible the prediction of both the curvature at a crack and the average curvature along the length of the member. A report is included of tests on seven single-span pre-tensianed beams which show that the theory accurately predicts the moment-curvature relationship. Keywords
