Abstract
Lead titanate is generally considered as a text book example of a displacive ferrroelectric phase transition. However, in our new Raman data the onset of a quasi-elastic scattering is pointed out beside the soft phonon. This central component is seemingly connected to the tetragonal-cubic phase transition. No evidence of a supplementary transition at low temperature is reported. Keywords
