Abstract
Treating male rats with thyroxine, DOCA, and cortisone failed to produce any numerical or morph. changes in the tissue mast cells of the mesentery, heart, or skeletal muscles. A simple impression of numerical changes without actual counts, evaluated statistically, was found to be completely unreliable as an indication of alteration of mast cell numbers. Keywords
