Abstract

The polarization of the

β

particles from

Y^{90}

and

{Au}^{198}

has been investigated by using electron-electron scattering. The reliability of this method and the precautions necessary in its application are discussed. It was found that for both

Y^{90}

and

{Au}^{198}

the polarization is (

- \frac{v}{c}
