Abstract
The rotational excitation of hydrogen fluoride molecules by electron impact is studied theoretically within the close-coupling scheme and via the well known Arthurs and Dalgarno formalism (1960). The appearance of sharp discontinuities in the elastic and inelastic cross-section energy dependence around kappa 2 values corresponding to outer-channel openings is examined and discussed in terms of Wigner cusps. Keywords
