Abstract
Nonlinear servo analysis is applied to a free running regulator. Steady state performance is determined using a modified sinusoidal describing function approach. Gain-phase plots provide a graphical analog. Transient analysis is accomplished using phase plane techniques. Complete analysis - steady state and transient -- is performed for a basic regulator and for an active output filter version. Results are applicable to specific requirements.Keywords
