Abstract
The itinerant antiferromagnet spin structures corresponding to a linear (LSDW), double (DSDW) and triple (TSDW) spin density waves are studied within the Hartree-Fock approximation. The authors have derived and solved a set of self-consistent equations for the Green function using a generalised one-band Hubbard model. Their analysis of the problem leads them to define joint densities of states. They have calculated the relevant joint density for various band structures and characterise the important features which lead to the various spin structures. They discuss the solutions of their equations for various model joint densities. They show that although the onset of ferromagnetism and antiferromagnetism does not depend too much on the detailed band structure, the stabilities of the various SDW states are critically dependent on them. Keywords
