Abstract
1,2,4-Trichlorobenzene has a single dose acute oral LD50 of 756 mg/kg for rats and 766 mg/kg for mice. The acute percutaneous LD50 for rats is 6139 mg/kg. Sub-lethal doses administered repeatedly to guinea-pigs caused liver damage. The chemical is irritating to skin only because of its degreasing action and is unlikely to cause acute contact dermatitis. It is irritating to the eyes and may cause severe pain. Care in handling is advocated. Keywords
