Abstract
An analysis of the differential cross section for electron scattering at 180° from complex nuclei is made in the distorted-wave Born approximation to see the conditions in which charge multipoles may contribute to such cross sections, questioning the usual interpretation of the data in terms of pure transverse form factors. Keywords
