Abstract

The elastic scattering cross section for

{}^{12}C

+

{}^{12}C

has been measured in the range

θ_{lab} = 1.5 - 9 °

. Evidence for a nuclear rainbow effect is reported. A value of the reaction cross section is deduced from the optical model analysis.
