Abstract
By using examples and counterexamples, it was shown that contact is neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition for the occurrence of the silhouette sign in a chest radiograph [human]. Another mechanism is hypothesized based on the laws governing X-ray interaction with matter, whereby the silhouette sign can distinguish anterior from posterior lung lesions. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
