Abstract
P-Aminosalicylic acid (PAS) may be conveniently estimated in body fluids with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde, and in the presence of sulfonamides, by Coupling with diazotized p-nitroaniline. For mixtures of PAS and sulphetrone, the total diazotizable substances are determined by diazotizing and coupling with N-1-naphthylethyl-enediamine, the PAS with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde and the absorption obtained for total diazotizable substances corrected for absorption due to PAS. For mixtures of PAS and sulfonamides, the PAS is determined with diazotized p-nitroaniline in order to correct the absorption due to total diazotizable substances. Keywords
