Abstract
The low-lying quantum states of the color center have been calculated for the equilateral-triangular configuration in KCl. The calculation has been done under the assumption that the crystal is a dielectric medium with an effective dielectric constant. The possibility that the new optical absorption band appearing at 1.29 eV in KCl is due to the center is also discussed in this paper.
