Abstract
Bipolar patients (101) with at least 2 episodes during the 2 successive year prior to Li received continuous Li treatment for 2 yr. The prophylactic efficacy of Li increased from 60 to 73% when patients with individual standard deviations of plasma Li of > 0.2 mM/l were excluded. Most of the good responders showed individual mean plasma Li levels from 0.5 mM/l to 0.79 mM/l.Keywords
