Immunologic Unresponsiveness Following a Single Feeding of Picryl Chloride

Abstract
Guinea pigs fed a single large dose of picryl chloride after prior starvation are unresponsive to subsequent immunization with the hapten. The induction of tolerance by the single feeding technique is directly comparable to the state produced by multiple feedings in terms of dose, specificity and degree of resistance to contact and anaphylactic sensitization.
