Chiral anomalies in semileptonic decays of theDandKmesons

Abstract
Semileptonic decays of the D and K mesons are studied, particularly with respect to chiral anomalies. The anomalies are described by the currents of an effective Lagrangian with a Wess-Zumino term. When the low-energy chiral approximation is improved by pole enhancements, an excellent fit is obtained to K-meson decay parameters and to D-meson branching ratios, lifetimes, and the electron decay spectrum.
