Abstract
A technique was devised for identifying the part of the pulp corresponding to the carious lesion. The depth of demineralization of the lesion was studied by microradiog-raphy of ground sections of the part of the enamel with the lesion. There were changes in the pulp beneath white spots with and without cavitations in 50 of 74 teeth. The demoralization of the lesion was limited to the enamel in 33 cases with pulp reactions. The most frequent changes were an impairment of the odontoblast layer, hyper-chromatic line in the denin and accumulation of exudate cells. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
