Abstract
Magnetization and resonance properties have been studied in the range 4.2–310K on several samples cut from METGLAS 2826 MB (Fe40Ni38Mo4B18) ribbon. Domain structure was observed by Bitter powder techniques. Perpendicular anisotropy field of the order of 300 Oe is found in the as quenched samples and it varies from sample to sample which is attributed to a non uniform distribution of stresses. Domain studies also confirm this in the sense that islands (l∼100 μm) with either maze or stripe domains are observed scattered in a random manner. Annealing at about 300° C leads to the suppression of the anisotropy. Low temperature magnetization variation is well described by M (T) = M (O) [1−BT3/2−CT5/2] with B = 30.3×10−6 K−3/2 and C = 2.0×10−8 K−5/2. The spin wave stiffness constant D is evaluated as 110 m.e.V. Å2 and the mean square range of interaction 〈r2〉 ? 9 Å2.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
