Abstract
The design of cells is governed by the nature of the information desired from the experiments, the physical state, history and matrix of the sample, the longevity and cost of the cell, and the spectral region of interest. Several cells are described in this paper in four categories: conventional transmission cells; matrix-isolation cells; pseudo-matrix isolation cells; and multiple internal reflection cells.Keywords
