Abstract
Pancreatic CystsA conspicuous trend toward internal drainage of pancreatic cysts is apparent in any review of the current literature dealing with this subject. Numerous writers, frequently reporting a small number of cases, have emphasized the virtues of internal drainage. Shumacker105 recommended the Roux-Y jejunal anastomosis to the most dependent portion of the pancreatic cyst. He utilized this procedure in the management of 5 patients with pseudocysts, each of which followed an attack of acute pancreatitis or pancreatic trauma.
