Abstract
A series of experiments was carried out using a tissue-equivalent (TE) proportional counter to determine the distributions of dose in lineal energy produced by the radiation fields of encapsulated 125I as well as by other photon sources. Microdosimetric quantities such as the frequency-mean and the dose-mean lineal energy were computed for the sources, some of which had been previously employed for radiobiological experiments. The dose-mean lineal energy measured for X-ray and 60Co sources was qualitatively related to the measured relative biological effectiveness. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
