Abstract
A calculation of the energy and various expectation values of the 11S, 21.3S and 21.3P states of helium using perturbation theory is described. The method is based on zero order wavefunctions generated by the frozen core Hartree-Fock approximation. To fourth order in the energy and second order in the wavefunctions excellent agreement with the calculations of Pekeris is obtained. Keywords
