Abstract
Layered magnets, considered to be experimental realizations of the 2D XY model, have a magnetization with a characteristic exponent beta =0.23. They show, using modified renormalization group equations, that this value of beta is a universal signature of finite-sized 2D XY behaviour. They present simulation data in agreement with both the calculation and the experimental observations. Keywords
