Abstract
Performance measurements of scintillation cameras are made by the manufacturer to test and specify the equipment by the customer as part of his acceptance testing, and by the user as part of a periodic quality-control program. The NEMA (National Electrical Manufacture''s Association) standard is described. This standard was developed to provide a uniform criterion for the measurement and reporting of performance parameters for scintillation cameras, and a means for manufacture specifications. The nuclear medicine practitioner is presented with the standard, the measurement methods, the reasons for them and the meaning of the reported values.
