Abstract
When rat liver tissue was homogenized in 0.88 M sucrose, intact mitochondria could be removed by differential centrifugation. These bodies were rod shaped, and stained readily with Janus Green. Suspensions of washed mitochondria produced by this technique were shown to contain from 70 to 80% of the succinoxidase activity of the original. liver homogenate. Keywords
