Abstract
The NIMBUS Meteorological Satellite will carry a system designed to receive electronic platform signals. The Doppler data is processed to provide estimates of their location and velocity. The current system provides for a location estimation accuracy of about 1 KM and component velocity estimation accuracy of about 1 M/S. The estimates, however, can be perturbed by various suspected noise sources. These effects are assessed to provide a measure of robustness of the estimation process.Keywords
