The Importance of Food Sensitization in Atopic Dermatitis

Abstract
In the majority of the cases studied (72%), there is sensitization to one or more foods. This figure is highly demonstrative regarding the importance of food in atopic dermatitis. Atopic dermatitis appears more frequently in the first 10 years of life, not differing remarkably, though, with regard to sex. The most sensitizing foods are: milk, egg and fish. The coincidence of atopic dermatitis with other allergic diseases such as intestinal parasitosis, is shown.
