Abstract
In this discussion a number of IF strategies for possible application to the study of human neoplasia have been reviewed along with factors which can limit their use. Recently, advances in the application of FCM-based DNA content measurements have been shown to be very useful adjuncts in diagnostic pathology and oncology. The years ahead will allow exciting opportunities for gaining further insight into human neoplasia through the direct coupling of quantitative IF analyses with DNA measurements using multiparameter FCM.
