Abstract
Swine thyroid epithelial cells were isolated and the intracellular concentration of thyroxine [T4] was measured by radioimmunoassay and high pressure liquid chromatography. The estimated concentrations of intracellular T4 were 1.89 .times. 10-8 .mu.g/cell by radioimmunoassay and 0.708 .times. 10-8 .mu.g/cell by high pressure liquid chromatography, which were equivalent to 4.39 .times. 10-5 M and 1.78 .times. 10-5 M, respectively. These levels were about a 1000-fold higher than that in the blood (3.18 .+-. 0.59 .mu.g/dl, 3.98 .times. 10-8 M).This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
