Abstract
The admn. of cortisone 18 hrs. before the intraven. injn. of a challenging dose of antigen prevented fatal anaphylactic shock in mice sensitized with normal horse serum. The protection against anaphylactic shock thus afforded was temporary. Complete protection was observed as early as 6 hrs. after the admn. of cortisone and this persisted for 48 but not 96 hrs. Keywords
