Abstract
The term ``sclerosing lipogranuloma'' has recently been proposed by Smetana and Bernhard*for a peculiar granulomatous reaction that occurs in subcutaneous fat tissue after injury of various types. It was their feeling that this traumatic sclerosing lipogranuloma is related to, but may be distinguished from, traumatic fat necrosis of the breast, relapsing nodular nonsuppurative panniculitis, adiponecrosis neonatorum, lipid pneumonia, pelvic lipogranuloma caused by iodized oils injected for uterosalpingography, and other artificial lipogranulomas.
