Abstract
Fluid amplifier dynamic response can be a limiting factor in the design of closed-loop systems. An approximation analysis is presented which extends previous work to include the effect of vent fluid, the inertia and friction of which combine to provide additional dynamic lags. Experimental frequency response results obtained using water show reasonable correlation over a range of supply pressures, indicating that for some amplifier designs, vent effects cannot be neglected.
