Abstract
Two inherited variants of human erythrocyte PGI are described, PGI-Cowen and PGI-Hay, both charac terized by having about half the normal level of erythrocyte PGI activity. The variant phenotypes could be distinguished from each other by starch-gel electrophoresis. By the use of rabbit antibodies to human PGI it was possible to compare indirectly the quantity of PGI antigen in erythrocytes, and show that the Hay phenotype has about half the level of PGI antigen found to be present in the Cowen and usual phenotypes. Keywords
