Abstract
It can be assumed that there are 2 reproductive strategies in time: to delay reproduction and continue growth so that there is maximum fruit production (optimistic) or to produce some fruits as quickly as possible to anticipate the risk of sudden death (pessimistic). An experimental study of the strategy was made using Gymnarrhena micrantha, an amphicarpic composite of the Negev Desert (Israel). The formation of aerial fruits occurs according to the optimistic strategy while the formation of subterranean fruits follows the pessimistic strategy. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
