Studies on Miliaria Rubra

Abstract
During the season of May through August in this part of the country (San Antonio, Texas), high temperatures and humidities combine to predispose the population to miliaria. Through the medium of universal air conditioning and acclimatization, the civilian population exercises involuntary control of this condition; however, no such control measures are available or desirable at Lackland Air Force Base, the sole basic training center for airmen in the United States Air Force. Young American men from all walks of life and all geographical regions of the U.S. come to this base for indoctrination and training in the U.S. Air Force. During the summer months, heat acclimatization becomes a major problem for many of them.
