Polarity-dependent electro-optical effect of nematic liquid crystals

Abstract
A new type of flexoelectric realignment is predicted which has a threshold voltage and occurs for only one polarity. It requires the anchoring of the alignment to be of different strength on the two electrodes.Keywords
