Abstract
Rates for collision‐induced transfer between a single rotational level (N′=40, J′=41) and other individual rotational levels within the υ′=4 vibrational level of B 3Σ−u diatomic sulfur are reported. The S2 was excited into the B state by the radiation from an atomic Zn lamp, and rotationally resolved fluorescence measurements were used to determine the rates for the collision partners He, Ar, and Xe.Keywords
