Abstract
Test records indicate that unsuspected sources of contamination may have been responsible for the positive infections reported in 1929 by E. P. Meinecke on both pines and Castilleja by aeciospores from the same P. harknessii galls on pines. Field and test evidence indicates that in most of western North America Castilleja is not an alternate host for this rust and that the rust has no dual faculty for infection both of pines and alternate hosts. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
