Abstract
Pentakispyridine N-oxide oxotitanium(IV) perchlorate, TiO•5C5H5NO•(ClO4)2, has been prepared and its physicochemical properties investigated. The infrared and electronic spectra show that pyridine N-oxide is bonded to the metal ion through oxygen of the N—O. The complex explodes at 215 °C, a temperature slightly above the starting decomposition temperature of titanyl perchlorate, TiO(ClO4)2•3H2O.Keywords
