Abstract
The genus Hoploseius is redefined on the basis of H. cometa (Berlese), H. drosophili (Chant) new combination, and H. bakeri new species, which are described, keyed, and illustrated. Fragmentary ecological data with specimens of Hoploseius make it apparent that the mites are associated with polyporous bracket fungi and have a phoretic relationship with adult drosophilid flies. Keywords
