Abstract
Autoreactive B cells producing antibody against self-antigen are normally deleted by apoptosis. In their Perspective, Fu and Storb discuss new work (William et al.), which shows that in a mouse strain prone to developing autoimmune disease, autoreactive B cells avoid deletion by accumulating in the T cell zone of the spleen instead of in B cell follicles. Keywords
