Abstract
The form factor νW2 for inelastic electron-proton scattering is numerically evaluated in a multiperipheral model with scalar couplings. It is found that although the model is theoretically scale invariant in the sense that νW2 approaches a finite limit as q2, this limit is approached very slowly; for values of q217 (GeVc)2, experimentally attainable at SLAC, the model has not reached its scale-invariant limit.
