Stability of the TE_0 guided wave of a nonlinear waveguide with a self-defocusing bounding medium

Abstract
We give an argument that the TE0 guided wave of a thin-film slab waveguide with a nonlinear self-defocusing bounding medium is always stable in spite of the fact that its nonlinear dispersion curve has a negative slope.Keywords
