Abstract
For a sample of 12 VA mental hospitals, OMI data were obtained on representative 50% samples of hospital employees, clustered into hospital social atmosphere types, and related to time in community, adjusted for prognosis of patients admitted to these hospitals. It was found that authoritarian-restrictiveness was negatively related to in-community days and that other atmosphere types were positively related.
