Abstract
The application of the independent-quasiparticle model to the inelastic neutron scattering from homogeneous intermediate-valence compounds is elaborated. Numerical results are presented for the relative weight of the hybrid-to-hybrid, gap-to-hybrid, and hybrid-to-gap contributions to the dynamic structure factor. A detailed comparison is made with the scattering calculated in the decoupled-mode approximation. The temperature and frequency dependence of the scattering are discussed.
