Biblical Literalism and Inerrancy: Does the Difference Make a Difference?

Abstract
Two different versions of a “biblical authority“ question are compared with respect to their effects on a number of theoretically relevant variables. One version of the question seems to connote a sense of biblical literalism, while the other implies an inerrant, but not necessarily literalist view of the Bible's authority. No large differences between the two versions of the question were found.
